Examination Information
Instructions for the ABVO Certifying Examination have been provided below. Completion and submission of the examination registration form with accompanying payment is due by the deadline posted on the Critical Deadlines & Dates page, and is required.
Questions concerning the ABVO Certifying Examination should be directed to the Chair and Vice Chair of the Examination Committee (ABVOExam@ACVO.org).

ABVO Exam Integrity Statement:
The content of the ABVO examination is confidential. Examination candidates must not use information divulged to them regarding questions or images from prior ABVO Examinations in examination preparation. Additionally, examination candidates are prohibited from divulging any information about the questions or images included in the ABVO Examination to anyone during or after the examination. Strict confidentiality is required to ensure that each candidate has an equal opportunity to pass the examination.
If any candidate is thought to violate the confidentiality of the examination, either in preparation for taking the examination, during the examination, or after the examination, a report with charges of the violation will be sent to the ACVO Ethics Committee for action. A candidate found to be in violation of this Integrity Statement by the ACVO Ethics Committee will have their examination results nullified, and may be subject to other severe consequences of ethics violations.
By proceeding with the examination, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the ABVO Integrity Statement.
List of 2026 Examiners
If you are a candidate for the 2026 Certifying Examination, please notify the Exam Committee Chairs through the ABVO Office (Office@acvo.org) if you have a conflict with any of the below listed examiners (e.g., ACVO Diplomate is involved in your training, is a personal friend, or practices in same area) to ensure that an alternate examiner grades your examination. The list of examiners is subject to change based on scheduling of the practical.
